Okay! This post was one of the highlights of our trip. We took a train from Florence to Modena to visit this year’s TOP 1 restaurant, Osteria Francescana by Chef Massimo Bottura.For two years they’ve been in second place and now they have finally won the top spot. My boyfriend’s the foodie here, so I’m just in for the ride. I’ve never been much of a picky eater. Feed me anything with minimal vegetables as possible and I am good. We arrived extra early, so we had to wait a little while since the restaurant was still closed. We were out at the freezing cold while waiting a car stopped right in front of us and it was Lara Gilmore, the wife of Massimo. She gave us a warm smile and thanked us for choosing to eat at the restaurant. The chef wasn’t in town but that certainly was the perfect starter before our meal.
